Our Story, From Start to Merger
Credit Union (CU) Advantage has been providing financial services to members and their families since 1969. Originally named Providence Hospital Employees Credit Union, our name changed to CU Advantage in 2002 as we widened the scope of our membership to include more communities. To stay in step with technology and new advances in financial solutions, we continually explore options for improvement.
To make this dream a reality, we merged with Zeal Credit Union on January 1, 2025. Named one of “America’s Top Banks and Credit Unions 2025” by Newsweek, Zeal is a Michigan credit union leading with Character, Passion, and Empathy.
CU Advantage, a division of Zeal Credit Union, will continue to flourish during this transition and, through it, we will come out stronger with even more products and services specifically crafted to help you reach your goals. Plus, with 24/7 electronic account access and 12 new branch locations coming soon, we’re making it even easier to bank with us whether you’re getting your very first savings account or applying for your third mortgage. Whatever stage of life you’re in – we’ve got your back.

Here at CU Advantage, a division of Zeal Credit Union, we are committed to providing a range of secure, convenient, and innovative financial services. It’s our goal to provide exceptional service during every interaction, whether that is adding your nephew Billy as a beneficiary to your account, or something a bit more complicated like wiring funds to your Great-Nonna Maria overseas in Italy.
